It’s always amazing to see something being repurposed, especially when the outcome is as beautiful as this one of a kind shelf titled Bilbao. Designed by Sebastian Errazuriz the fallen branch discovered on a street in Santiago is now used as an unconventional shelf to store books.
In order to get the branch to sit flat on the wall Errazuriz first took the branch back to his workshop. He then twisted and turned the branch, manipulating it into a position that would mean it could be used as a shelf. Although Errazuriz does try to keep the branches form as natural as possible a few design choices were made along the way including sanding some of the rougher edges done and finishing the entire branch in matte black.
