For a city filled with high rise buildings that tower above everything else it’s too easy to forget about the network of side streets and lanes that some of the most beautiful spots can be found, as proven by the magical night shots from self-taught Japanese photographer Masashi Wakui. Whilst navigating his way through the backstreets of Shibuya, Shinjyuku and other districts he’s captured Tokyo at it’s very best, a nocturnal city lit with neon signs and something happening on just about every corner. You can see more of Wakui’s work on his Flickr, Tumblr and Twitter.
