?The drama of life is always accurate and beneficial. Whatever has happened was good, whatever is happening is the best and whatever is to happen will be the best of all!?
How do we play the game of life? What are its rules? Are there more than one set of rules? Which rules do you live by: the game?s, your own or someone else?s rules?
Do you know what rules you are living by? ? You can discover them by watching the people, situations or events that you find yourself reacting too. More often than not this is a sign that one of the rules that you live by has just been broken. Also watch out for tension, this too can be a sign that one of your rules is being challenged.
What are our rules based on? ? Our rules are our belief systems, which are usually based on the past. Is it that what I believe must be right, and everyone else wrong? Are my beliefs absolute and yours false? Can any one of us really say that our set of rules are absolute and that anyone who does not buy into them has got it wrong? How can we know this? Could there be some absolute rules that apply to everyone, some unchanging and eternal truths? Truth by its very nature is unchanging.
?We exist to belong to each other, the worst thing we can do to each other is to criticize and judge another based on our own individual belief systems.?
So, how do we play the game? ? A basic rule is that we each create our own experience of this game. Life is not something external to us or that happens to us. How we respond is always up to us, and is usually based on what we have come to believe. This embraces suffering.
There are three reasons for subtle mental suffering:
i) we are unaware that we create our own experiences;
ii) we forget that we are actors in this drama of life- our bodies are our costumes, we are not the costume but the one who acts through the costume and
iii) our belief systems ? it shouldn’t be like this / this way.
So?- Let go of the wrong I (that I am my body) and observe the patterns of the beliefs you hold that cause you to experience tension.
There a three ways to play this game of life:
1) as a master, a creator, proactively and seeing challenges not obstacles or problems.
2) constantly questioning. Life is an experience ? so experience rather than rationalize.
3) as a victim, seeing everything as an obstacle or a problem.
